DYN-P and DYN-GP
Before Schertler®, the pickup and amplification of grand and upright pianos has usually meant compromise for the soundman, either because of poor representation of the piano's natural sound by the use of strip transducers, or as a result of inevitable feedback and voiceover problems, resulting in the compromise of the piano's sound quality created by other instruments by the use of microphones. That was yesterday. Today we have the DYN-P and DYN-GP piano transducers from Schertler® - the solution to sound and handling problems.

Paula ColeThe Schertler® piano transducer comes in two models, which are equally suited to both upright and grand pianos. The piano model DYN-P is a single transducer generally suitable for uprights and smaller concert pianos. The grand piano model DYN-GP, which utilizes a matched pair of transducers, provides an even greater sense of space as the sound can be captured at two separate points, achieving a more balanced tone whole adding enormously to the richness of the sound.

The unique pickup technology relegates voiceover and feedback problems to the past, and, thanks to the excellent dynamics and linearity of the world-wide-patented, electrodynamic transducer, the piano can now be reproduced clearly and convincingly across its entire frequency range.

The high resolution and overall sound quality of the DYN-P and DYN-GP piano transducers continue to impress professionals in the sound business and outperform many a stage microphone.

APPLICATION
The use of the DYN-P or DYN-GP piano transducer is extremely simple and very safe. Special adhesive putty is provided to mount the pickup to the sound board. The best location(s) is(are) quickly found through trial and error. The balanced signal uptake - via the XLR connector - and the low impedance of the pickup reduce the risk of hum and radio frequency interference to a minimum, even when using long cables. They also allow direct connection to a mixing board or amplifier unit, without the need for power supplies, pre-amplifiers and the like.
